I visited the thrift store for the plaid shirt and local craft stores for the goodies to put together this SCARY costume. Thank you JD for keeping the pool fresh and clean at Grams house, we loved hanging out there these last couple of months! Lots of fun with family and so much good food also! my Rachel on the right jumping in with cousings Kelcey and Marissa!CLEVELAND ROCKS!! The Loftus Family Reunion on my husbands side of the fam was held in Cleveland this year! It Rocked! Good to see everyone and celebrate family!Here is my husband Dan and my Son Clayton at the family reunion banquet (yes I was there...taking photos of course)My daughter Rachel on the Left and daughter in law Jennifer on the right, cousins Elana, Kelcey, Marissa and Aunt Angie. (he had bad trouble breathing and other health issues and was so sad and tired) Flowers from Jennifer and Clayton help ease my pain of losing my Chas bro ):Charlie and his bud Kako cat, wait to be called into the kitchen by Dan for a snack (: The good ol days ~ Kako really misses his buddy too!

We made it Rachel, Me and Dan in her dorm room. I don't know how but all her Things really fit in there. (we carried all of it up three flights of stairs!)
We said goodbye and off she went to settle in for another school year. She is a sophmore now.

Like father like son he smushed the cake a little in her face, he got it back in his, lol.

And the DJ played on, everyone continued dancing and visiting til 8 pm. Then we invited family & friends over to our house and we had a ball to the wee hours of the morning!! Jennifer and Clayton left at midnight to an undisclosed location.

April 30, 2010 Dan and I visited Farmville, VA to see Rachel's lacrosse team play in their Division I Conference Tournament. They played two games won one and lost one. Then we left and drove to her college for the move home to oHIo, as her last day of school was April 28.

Dan and I arrived just in time for the game!!

The team comes off the field after their warm up. Rachel is #11 on the far left here.

May 8th, 2010 Clayton's gratuation from Miami University in Oxford Ohio. He graduated with B.S. Chemical Engineering, Cum Luade Honors and a 4.0 for Spring Semester. We are very proud of him! Here the seats await the graduates.Clayton in the front line about the sixth person, he has his hand in his shorts pocket as he strides in.Here those graduates with Cum Laude Honors are asked to stand and be recognized for their accomplishment.Clayton with his Dad-Mom and Sister Rachel!! Congratulations!!May 15, 2010 Congratulations to Clayton he got a job!! Woohoo!! So, off to Pa. to look for an apartment. Jennifer, Clayton and I found the most adorable apartment. Yay!!Claytons work site is fenced in all around. This is the closest we could get, what a beautiful view from the gate.May 17, 2010 The big U-Haul move. Jennifer, Clayton & Ben picked up the U-Haul truck.

Ben, Rachel, Clayton and Me made the trip to Pa. on a rainy monday. We were surprised when we arrived at our destination the rain had stopped, Yes! We were able to unpack in dry weather.May 19, 2010 Rachel had to have surgery for Compartment Sydrome on the back of her legs. she had the front done last December. Here she is not too happy about the IV the nurse just put in her hand.After her surgery ice, elevate and watch TV. She is doing really good, thanks be to God.

My Birthday and bunch of bad weather!

The beginning of March continued with bad weather, 2 degree days and scary driving conditions. This is how my morning commute to work looks like. Cars ahead have slid into the median and there is police and tow trucks at the scene. (happens every time) Another bad weather morning, a bit clearer road conditions but people still don't know how to stay out of median!

At work, looking out my window....oh, even the Amish come out on bad weather days ~:O) Yes, that is a buggy, they just brought some scrap steel in to sell. Later in the month when it is warmer, here is an Amish wagon driving onto the scale, at my work getting weighed to sell his scrap steel. He is looking back at the scale to be waved off after being weighed.

Whats this???? Green Velvet cake!!! Yummy! My boss Sherri made a green version of red velvet cake for my birthday, love it, THANK YOU Sherri!! On my birthday sitting at my desk with Bella on my lap!! OH, 49 :)

February snow, Snow, SNOW! We shovel and .....

It just snows somemore, shovel, shovel, shovel!

Driving to the store when it finally cleared after days of snow. This clearing lasted a couple of hours then back to SNOW!Charles LOVES to go in and out of the house. I think he is loving the taste of the fresh snow....

This is my Rachel when she returned to school January 6 or so....i felt so bad having to send her with her crutches and without me to take care of her. :( She is doing okay seven weeks after surgery. She is still not back on the lacrosse field, please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

Dan and I are well. Dan just had his birthday so we went out to a steakhouse in town, it was very good! (he is very low key)

My diabetes is under control and I don't have to take the shots of insulin at all. (hatess shots) I hope to get more fit in 2010!!

Rachel came home from College on Dec 12, by 21st she had surgery on both her legs for compartment syndrome. Here she is just before going into surgery...my lil girl :(

God has blessed and she is recovering very well!!

Clayton came home from college on Dec 18th...Made Jennifer and I very happy to see him. I wish it was spring so he and I could go for a day of golf :), but its too cold. (feels like 12 degrees today) So he plays video games and hangs out with friends. Here he is 6/09.

Dan and I both had the flu just before we traveled to see Rachel play her first lacrosse tournament. As luck would have it most of her team and her had it also. They played tough even though they were ill.
We are proud of our daughter (((((hugs)))))

Hi friends and family,

I was off to the doctor today for some help with my cold and cough! I have a viral infection of my sinuses or sinusitus, ugh! Good news is I will be better soon with Rx medicine! 10 days of misery with soon be feeling much much better.

SISTERHOOD of SCRAP is hosting a crop ...see my sidebar for their link.

This layout was done using a Recipe challenge.

I used stickles glue glitter and sigmo pen, thickers for the title and tags for my embys and 1 solid and 1 print paper. Thanks for looking and leave me a comment to say you stopped by or how you like my lo. ~:O) Not the best Photo but it was late....

Hi Friends and Family....Both Rachel and Clayton are relocated to college now!! Yay!!

Our fair begins on Saturday...lots of fun! Love the fair food! Bucky from American Idle will be performing and the Little River Band also. Dan will attend with me, and hopefully other family members too ~;O)

Rachel is officially a "Blue Hose" see Mel Gibson's Brave Heart movie and you will know that a Blue Hose is a scottish/irish warrior. Rachel will be playing Division I Womens Lacrosse in the fall season beginning with a tournament Sept. 26, 2009 "Go Blue HOse"!!Clayton is a Senior and will be graduating this year as a Chemical Engineer. He is now living in an apartment style residence....so he is cooking for himself! He and Jennifer are doing well. Here they are looking so adorable!!Me I am trying to figure out what I am going to be when I grow up...ha ha! Missing my kids very much!

My friend Kathy spent half a day at one of our local scrapbook stores!!! Thank you Kathy for the fabulous idea ~:O) Here is what I got done~ starting a double lo of my dear daughter with her best friend (title will be best friends at the beach) This one is the Prom with my dd boyfriend!! The picture was given to me by a friend Liz Lu...Thank you Liz! She was closer with a better camera.

Finally it is Friday....I have been working 40 hrs a week plus or minus. I am thankful for it right now. Although it does put a cramp in my scrapbooking time...Good news is that I am getting to scrap on saturday!!!! I will post up some pics (using my dd's camera) Yes, still haven't made the purchase of a camera as of yet. Soon yes soon.

My ds Clayton attends Miami University in Oxford OH, last summer he was accepted to participate in the Summer of Learning "SOL" program as leader to incoming freshman. In my layout I used two separate pictures of him- 1 he is listening to a speaker, 2 he is touring the Culinary Support Center.

May 24, 2009 On this sunny Sunday Dan, Rachel and I, traveled an hour from home to honor veterans of war on the Memorial Day holiday to visit the recently dedicated~

Ohio Vietnam Veterans' Memorial Wall in Clinton, Ohio

“125-foot black granite wall etched with the names of 3,094 Ohio men and one woman who died while serving in the Vietnam conflict.”
“Ohio Gold Star Mothers. The 6-foot-tall granite statue is dedicated to all mothers who have lost children to war. The statue stands on a 3-foot pedestal and weighs 1,600 pounds.”
“The wall and all the memorials at the park were created by Ken Noon of Summit Memorials on West Wilbeth Road in Akron”

“Donations also are being sought to pave the walkways, which radiate from the wall, with memorial bricks and to add benches around the wall.”

Happy Birthday Gerry!! 77 years...wow, now that is a lucky number if ever there was one!! We celebrated with all the family on Monday. We had the most deliciously amazing~ Chocolate, chocolate chip, chocolate pudding, chocolate frosting cake!! Thansk Kath! Of course all the other fixings we ate were delicious also ~;O)

Today I ran around with Clayton my ds, doing errands with him. He was whipping out some Tshirts for his paintball team practice. Yes, he is quite crafty at it...I should of taken pics! Well maybe when he returns from Columbus ~:O)

Rachel my dd and I went a friends graduation party this evening when dd got off work. Then I just hung out with my dh and read a magazine and played on my pc.

Time now to post some pics and sleep!

The rest of the week went by pretty well except my cat Sam had to go to the Vet, sadness. He has a UTI, he got a shot of antibiotics and is in today at 1:30 p.m. for another. He is almost his frisky self again!! It is very expensive :( Worth it to stop the suffering though. I ♥ my pets!

Today also happens to be my birthday. Clayton, Rachel, Jennifer and I went to Red Lobster yesterday before Clayton left to go back to the university. It was a very good lunch, I had crab legs, garlic shrimp scampy, crisp shrimp and rock lobster platter (phew i am all out of breath after that one). The kids gave me some sweet presents Scrapbooking goods of course ((((Rachel)))) and an ipod ((((CJ)))) with the holder and earbuds ((((Jfer)))) and a vanilla scented candle, plus Rachels bf gave me a card and candy!! Today Dan will take me lunch and maybe he got me some candy, mmm good!

I must be off to bed now to get up early with Rachel and head to the lacrosse field for clean up and team pics.

Good, Bad & the Ugly

The Good~

Cafe Mojo Challenge use glimmer mist & Pamela's sketch 132. I had never used it before so I ran out to my local ss and bought some. For this lo I put some paper flowers down first then sprayed Pink Glimmer Mist on the paper, I also sprayed some on the vintage music book sheet. There is vintage sewing pattern between the pics. Rachel and her escorts at the FCCLA fundraiser Fashion show!

This meal turned out very good, I made Chicken Cordon Bleu it was yummy!! (the tooth picks were colored and you can see it on the servings ~:O) still yummy. I had extra chicken, I fried it in spices.

The BAD~

I was out thrifting at my local shops....there on the table was one of these, I did a bad thing and bought it for ten dollars. It is def not something I needed, but I really couldnt fight the desire to have it!!! I need to clean mine up so this is a pic from the internet.

The UGLY~

Rachel is fine, Thank God! She had a passenger and the other car had two, they are all uninjured! Praise God! The car is a total loss, the adjuster was surprised there was no injuries. Dear daughter was taking a friend home (she didn't have my permission) and reared ended a car on a dark hwy, going 55-60 mph!!! When it first happened she called me and I quickly told her to call 911, luckily Dan was home and we went to her. I saw the girls in the car and all the front and side air bags blown along with front end of the car smashed up, I couldn't get out of the car....I knew I would faint. Just to see your own child in such an accident, I am strong but not right at moment, not at all.

Saturday I completed this layout for a challenge at Sisterhoodofscrap, use a sentiment found on a card. I chose You're invited. lol My son Clayton asked his gf Jennifer to go with to the Miami Univ. Bicentennial Ball, she agreed and drove down to the university ....they had a wonderful time!

Afterwards we traveled to my sister in laws bf's home to join in a potluck and see their new lil chicks. There are five chicks for egg laying. My Rachel didn't come but we texted her and she named one of them Max ~:O) so cute!The five chicks are a week old but when they grow to lay eggs,

it will be 2.5 dozen brown eggs a week!!

"Puppy Love!" lo I had to include a love song title on a layout for Scrapbook Challenges on myspace.Today it is snowing and freezing....The family went to the Gault indoor track, then Rach and I went to the grocery store. While we were out we bought her new womens lacrosse cleats, since the mandatory workouts start tomorrow and the season will begin in a month!! We got her the Nike Womens Speed Lax cleats! Very nice! She has worn the Nikes in this pic for two years...it is about time for a new pair!! Go Lady Lax 2009!!

Here is Rachel and Anthony getting ready to go through the maze! I waited in the barn, ha ha, it was cold out there! The map is in the vellum pocket showing the Ohio shaped maze, they had to go to certain stops and collect ink stamps. After they got all their map stamps, it made an eagle picture. They did good!

First I have to share this, Pamela of Scrapbook Challenges
Chose my layout as her Pick of the week!! I am very honored, thank you Pamela! This layout below, I finished using one of Pamela's Sketch 128. I don't particularly care for the picture of me...although I very much enjoyed doing this layout. Loved spending the time with Clayton my son, watching him putt a really long way and make it in the cup!! I don't golf but I am a decent cart driver~:O)

Dan brought this box home today...no it wasn't a nice Valentine gift, lol!It wasn't a gift for the pets either. SAM was very interested to know what was in there...TEEs where in there ....blah! I do some work at home for Dan (my dh) whenever he needs an extra set of hands! (we own a golf business)Packs of ball markers were on the table also....Along with cards...So it begins ONLY 3,000 of these to do...You may have seen these sometime, "Tee packs", especially if you golf. The logos change depending on the order. This order is for Anheuser Busch...

My Charlie boy is always curious when the camera comes out....especially when the cats are gettin their pic taken, ha ha, LOL! I put finished Tee packs in this box....Sam thinks it is fun to get play in...
He also thinks we can't see him...ha ha!

He is popping his head out, as if to play peek a boo! Aww sweet cat....Thats all folks! HAVE A NICE DAY.

Oh Sunny day...well actually the sun came out from behind the snow clouds for a little bit of time. This is the bench right next to my front porch steps, the stepping stones that lead to it between the shrubs are still buried with snow.At the top left of this pic is the two car driveway leading to our garage....nope it isn't shoveled...snow got too deep to keep up with, plus the frigid temps turned it to a solid sheet of ice!!!

Charlies trail is curving on the right of this pic....then the snow got too deep and he quit using it. To the left some lil creature has been rooting around??? I don't know what it could be?

Golf order and Christmas!!

Yes, my hubby and I own a Golf ball plant. Periodically he asks me to help pack/assemble the items for shipping. I do this at home, the pictures below are in my hallway. I spent a few days using my "Glue dots" to stick two smiley golf balls together, in order for them to stay smiling in the plastic tubes seen below. They sit on golf tees that I also assembled the week before.
So the Christmas decor in our home was on hold for a little bit.
This is a picture of empty boxes and left over smileys and tubes! Oh the dog? well that is my Charles, what a helper he is, good motivation, ha ha!

I am not a baker of Christmas cookies. I can't bake cookies very well at all. It seems to me that once a year I bake chocolate chip cookies and its always in the winter. Around this time of year as I think about. Maybe I feel festive??? Weird, anywho I saw a pic of m&m shortbread cookies....so feeling festive as I do...I will give the recipe a try. With any luck they will look like either of these pictures. Ha Ha! Well at least I can't ruin sugar topped with sugar, right?????

A couple of days ago I heard a loud noise outside....this is the flock of birds that flew in with such a sound, I have never heard!! I grabbed my camera and went to the back deck.... They flew to the trees.....

A Red TAiled HAWK was sitting next to my front porch. He caught a squirral and was just beginning to eat. I drove up and got out of my car, went through the garage and this first pic is taken through the glass on my front door!! He is sitting by the bench. His beak is filled with his snack...Russling his feathers up because he noticed I was peeking out at him. I stepped out on the porch half curious half afraid....he began to turn away... Slowly he turns himself looking at me the entire time... It was scary at this point because had almost turned 180 to face me again...look at the red tail, Wow, beautiful bird! He turned a bit more and flew up to land on the peak of the roof just above my front porch!!! Sweet experience...love these birds!

September 26, 2008 I took Rachel on a college overnight visit...I stay in a hotel while she sleeps over with lacrosse team hosts! Scrapbook supplies in tow I finished this layout using pics we had taken in 2006' for our passports. (we don't have our passports yet btw) I loved using the see thru bubbles over words and retro dymo wood colored tape!!

The Family-June 2008-Here we are celebrating Claytons belated Birthday Dinner at Longhorn Steakhouse....because he loves his steaks!

I am so proud of her and pray the best always for my girl.

Rachel and I are still traveling - touring the midwest, in her search of a college to play lacrosse and get an education!! It has been good and we have seen many really nice colleges! She is getting closer and closer to making a selection or visa versa....the right college is selecting her.

Thanks for your prayers and good wishes! It is an exciting time and also a very tiring time.

Here is the short list of things to do today-
1. Laundry- check off three loads (yay, its noon and I am almost done!)

2. Update College search spreadsheet for Ms. Rachel- well i have the tuitions for all eight colleges, its a start ~:)

3. Clean carpet- thinking about tearing it up and getting indoor outdoor carpet instead...gahh! (we own a golf ball factory and hubby refuses to take his work shoes off in the house, ewww!)

4. Clean up kitchen- dishes are put away now for the cleaning part, ha ha

5. Wash kitchen cupboards with Murphys oil soap- uhh well maybe tomorrow.

6. Sweep and mop- 1, 000 sq ft of hardwood flooring, okay I am getting off here and doing this for sure ....first. ( although i hear the dryer just stopped...so i will fold and put the clothes from the washer in to dry first, yeah, yes.)

7. Update the checkbook ledger.

8. Pay Jennifer for the used car we bought from her for 2800- Done.

9. Go out to eat with Dan at 1 o'clock....oh goodness!

10. Shower and blow dry hair.

11. Forget the list and keep trying to get through the day....lol

P.S. Last Sunday I drove Ms. Rachel to La Salle University the Head Lacrosse Coach called her and invited her to visit. (proud of my girl she works hard on the lax field) Very nice campus, she loved it! We also went to the King of Prussia mall...huge mall! I bought her a homecoming dress and school clothes! (note-1,000 mile trip when it was all said and done because we also stopped at a college near Pittsburgh on the way home) Thats all Folks.

These days I have been the driver. We travel to lacrosse tournaments, where Rachel makes us proud with her fierce playing!! We travel to colleges where it is good to see what the future holds for her. She will be making a decision on her college in the next couple of months so pray she gets all that God has in store for her and that she takes hold of the blessings therein!

I have been working nine hours a day at a "part time" job, in between our travels. It is up the road and the pay is pretty sucky, but in these times where people are getting laid off, I am thankful for it.

Hoping to do some scrapping this weekend!!!

We will probably have some fun with the family at my mother in laws maybe pool party, Marty and Kelcey are coming for a visit from Pennsylvania.

Recapping the last four days-4!

June 6- Friday-Cleaned the house, cooked meals (meatballs) && Rachel and I went to our LSS for the Crop til midnight. We were pretty tired at 10, when my phone rings and its Kathy (((hugs))) calling to meet up at Starbucks for a chat and coffee, Yay!! (her dh is fun to chat with too) RAchel had two coffees and I tried a Mocha Frap, it was very refreshing! Back to scrap at 11:10 and home by 12:15 a.m.

June 7- Saturday Wake Rachel up at 8:30 for work! Me back to sleep because I have death wish cardinal bird, he flies into my bedroom window over and over! Poor bird, poor me no sleep since 5:30 a.m.! Anywho, at 1 p.m. we drive to Gmas house for swimming and family time! 10:30p.m. we arrive home. Get Rach ready for travel to Columbus in the morning.

June 8-Sunday Wake up call by death wish cardinal at 5 a.m. ugh!! try to sleep thru with no success. 5:40 shower. Wake Rachel at 6:15 for departure to lacrosse practice in Columbus. 6:45 a.m. drive thru mcdonalds COFFEE and sausage muffins and we are off! 8:30 a.m. arrive at LAX field for practice, drop daughter off and head to mall. 9:30 return to field mall because opens later. Watch practice, dd breaks her string on lax stick, I do repair while she borrows coaches stick! 10:30 a.m. I am off to the mall again. Hit up Archivers, where it is relatively cool compared to the 90 degree humid conditions dd is bearing!! Head to Panera for a cool green tea and 1/2 tuna sandwich w/fruit salad, yummy! 1:30 back to field, snap some pictures, of course! Help pass uni's out and depart 4p.m. Arrive home about 6:30, I am exhausted from the heat!
Rent movies and veg the rest of the night. Rachels bf visits. Jennifer, Rachel, Chance & I watch a movie.

June 9-Monday Wake up call for Rachel at 8:30 for work. I do house cleaning and cooking. Dreaming of scrapping but I have to go to walmart (this takes two hours, ugh $166.) We are traveling on thursday, Rachel and I to PA & MD for Lacrosse tournaments and clinics. 10 day tour, so we needed some shtuff!! Watched Bachelorette and wow, she booted two at once! Cooking DH beans right now and hope to scrap at least one lo tonight!!

Tuesday brings- 1:30 appt for my annual mammo!! good thoughts, please.

Here is my daughter Rachel and her boyfriend Chance attending his Senior Prom! They had a wonderful time.
He drove them around to driveway to the front doors in his fathers Semi truck trailor!!

They were the "hottest couple"! The crowd cheered and clapped when they stepped out of the truck!!
